I appreciate that you want to know more about me.

My name is Elena Alférez. I was born in Madrid, though half of my life has been spent living in Salamanca. I’ll start where any story tends to begin: Where does my artistic side come from? I don’t know. I don’t know because, in my case, it doesn’t stem from a family tradition, nor any sort of artistic tendencies that may have been born at home. I’m the first to feel surprised over having built an artistic career for myself in such conditions.

All my life, I’ve drawn, which is why I graduated in Fine Arts– specialising in Illustration, specifically. I started to be passionate about the world of acting in my adolescence thanks to the local Blockbuster in my neighbourhood (rest in peace, old friend). Absorbing the stories told in movies helped me understand myself better. I discovered other worlds, I grew to find common ground with other people, to empathise. Actors and actresses, throughout history, have essentially been storytellers. Stories can change our perspective, motivate us, encourage us to rethink the world we live in, shift our mood and opinions. This is why I am an actress. If art has transformed me, I can transform others through my own art. I dedicate myself to acting out of passion, it’s a fantastic job.

I’m a lucky person. I do theatre, make fiction series, films (and, equally as noteworthy, a pretty decent paella). I do my best to surround myself with people with whom I can laugh. Since I was little, I suspected it was a good thing to do; time and time again, such an approach to life has proven me right.  I also love cooking, reading, illustration, playing piano and, above all, looking after my friends.
